Corridors

Task

Lighting only when it is needed while still avoiding dark zones. The lighting in a corridor needs to be motion-controlled and reduced to a base level after an adjustable period of time to avoid dark areas. The delay period and basic light value also needs to be freely adjustable. The entire system with all its lighting and lighting control components needs to be configurable via a smartphone / tablet app.

APCON solution

Any luminaires configured in DALI are connected to the APCON CDH R165-FWS hybrid box via the two-pole DALI bus line and thus integrated into one Bluetooth low energy radio address. The hybrid box can either be mounted on the ceiling or placed out of sight. The APCON BLE-SEN5-SC motion and daylight sensors are designed for in-ceiling installation (a ceiling-mounted version is also available) and switch the luminaires connected to the hybrid box on when motion is detected. When the sensors no longer detect any movement and the delay period has passed, the lighting level drops to the reduced base value. After a further, considerably longer delay in reduced operation, the lighting goes out automatically.

This ensures that the light never goes out completely when there is a normal frequency of movement in the hallway or corridor. At the same time, this ensures that the lighting is switched off at the end of the working day. The APCON BLE lighting control components are connected to each other via radio / Bluetooth Low Energy. There is no need for a bus line. The configuration and assignment of the sensor and hybrid box is conveniently done via the free Casambi smartphone / tablet app.
