The lighting in a meeting room needs to be controlled via a control element by the entrance door that allows it to be switched on and off as well as dimmed and brightened individually. In addition, a number of lighting scenes, i.e. different lighting levels, need to be available. The entire system with all its lighting and lighting control components needs to be configurable via a smartphone / tablet app.

Since they are dimmable, all luminaires are configured in DALI. They are integrated into one Bluetooth Low Energy radio address via the APCON CDH R165-FWS hybrid box and a two-pole DALI bus line. The hybrid box can either be mounted on the ceiling or placed out of sight. The luminaires can be switched on and off together and dimmed or brightened individually via the APCON BLE-XPRESSW control element. Further, 4 fixed scenes can be set via a push-button. The device is powered by an integrated battery, so that an electrical connection is not required.

The configuration of the hybrid box or the connected luminaires as well as the control element is conveniently done via the free Casambi smartphone / tablet app. Both APCON components are connected to each other via radio / Bluetooth Low Energy. There is no need for a bus line between them.
