Classrooms
Task
To save energy, the lighting of a classroom needs to be controlled via a sensor depending on the available daylight and also together as a group due to the uniform ceiling pattern. In addition to switching the lights on and off via a push-button at the entrance, it needs to be possible to dim and brighten the lights individually. The board lighting is only switched on and off and cannot be dimmed.
APCON solution
The luminaires designed in DALI are connected to the APCON CDH R165-FWS hybrid box via the two-pole DALI bus line and thus integrated into one Bluetooth low energy radio address. The hybrid box can either be mounted on the ceiling or placed out of sight. The APCON BLE-SEN5-SC daylight sensor is designed for in-ceiling installation (a ceiling-mounted version is also available) and controls the luminaires connected to the hybrid box. The APCON BLE-COP-A push-button coupler is installed behind the standard push-button within the installation socket and allows the luminaires to be switched on and off as well as individually dimmed. The board lighting is switched on and off via an existing mains switch.
Optionally, the board lighting can be set up in DALI and integrated into the system with the APCON BLE-ASD radio module. Then, the board lighting can be switched on and off as well as dimmed via another button on the APCON BLE-COP-A push-button coupler.
The APCON BLE lighting control components are connected to each other via radio / Bluetooth Low Energy. There is no need for a bus line. Configuration is conveniently done via the free Casambi smartphone / tablet app and can be protected against unauthorised access with a secure password.
